This page contains an outline of my testing methods and has links to customers' reviews of my knives.

Testing

  1. Sharpen blade to shaving edge.

  2. Cut through 3"x 2" timber stud twice.

  3. Edge still shaved hair.

  4. Cut through beer can twice.

  5. Edge still shaved hair

  6. Baton kiln dried Oak.

  7. Edge cuts two sides of newsprint cleanly.

  8. Blade dropped from 1 metre high onto tip on concrete floor, if blade survives this proves the hardness/ toughness balance is good.

  9. Edge deflection tested against brass bar.

  10. 90 degree flex test (blade is bent over to an angle of 90 degrees without the edge cracking)

The blade in the photo below passed all these tests with ease.
