This page contains an
outline of my testing methods and has links to customers' reviews of my
knives. Testing
-
Sharpen blade to shaving edge.
-
Cut through 3"x 2" timber stud
twice.
-
Edge still shaved hair.
-
Cut through beer can twice.
-
Edge still shaved hair
-
Baton kiln dried Oak.
-
Edge cuts two sides of
newsprint cleanly.
-
Blade dropped from 1 metre
high onto tip on concrete floor, if blade survives this proves the
hardness/ toughness balance is good.
-
Edge deflection tested against
brass bar.
-
90 degree flex test (blade is
bent over to an angle of 90 degrees without the edge cracking)
The blade in the photo below
passed all these tests with ease.
